It Takes Balls, Lots of Shiny Balls.

I never got around to replacing last year's winter wreath on the fence at the entrance to the property.  Now, I didn't leave the last one up all year or anything, but it has been a sad, old empty fence for months and months.

I'm not always a fan of the rustic/glam contrast, but I really do like the juxtaposition between the shiny, jewel tone ornaments and the weathered wood post and wire.  Not to mention the crazy colors among the classic winter forest's white/green/brown combo.

I picked up the brand new, plastic, ball ornaments after the holiday last year at a thrift store. They're hot-glued to a foam wreath form with a "for inside use only" ribbon.  I started this in November, but various delays kept me from finishing and installing it until December 15. We'll see how it holds up.

And here's what we'll see as we drive up the road through the property and on home.

  1. I like that! We had the temperature inversion hoarfrost thing for most of the last week- many more than 50 shades of grey- Christmas lights and decs have been the only break in the dull. And that- that's SHINY! :)

    Merry Christmakwanzachanukah! :)

  2. THANK YOU! We've had more grey than last year lately, too. Here's hoping it's pretty with blue skies and white snow, cuz that sucker is staying up through mid-January.

Jolly Holidays to you and yours!
